The Empire Mine Historic Park is the location of one of the richest gold mine's dug during the California gold rush. Tours on the grounds include a cottage tour of the mine owners house, tours of the mine-yards, and opening in 2013, an underground tour of the mineshaft itself. The grounds also include beautiful gardens to tour, with some roses planted as far back as 1897!

Description: Driving through the Lassen Volcanic National Park provided beautiful views of the Cascades and High Sierras. If you'd rather walk, there are over 150 miles of hiking trails in all ranges of difficulty. There are also 8 different campground locations within the park, and ranger led activities all year round.

Description: Located in the Old Sacramento Area, the California State Railroad Museum has over 200,000 square feet of space dedicated to provided a fun and interesting approach to the history of the locomotive. The museum even includes 21 meticulously restored locomotives.

Description: California's executive mansion has housed the state's first families since 1903, up until Ronald Reagan. Guided tours are given daily until 4pm. The site can also be reserved for weddings and other formal affairs.

Description: The facilities at the North Shore side of Camp Far West Lake are open year round and include launch ramps, and two mini-marts for all your camping needs. There are both RV and open ground campsites, with picnic tables and barbecues. A variety of activities are available on the campgrounds such as hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, and horseback riding.

Description: Travelhome is a quiet RV park, owned and operated by RVers who are dedicated to making sure their fellow travelers find a nice place to stay. The park has 40 full service hook-ups available. There are also furnished cabins available for rent on a weekly basis. Travelhome has a laundry room, showers, shopping and food within walking distance.The office closes by 6, so make sure you call if you are running late!

Description: Collins Lake is a fisherman's hot spot with the fully stocked lake right at your disposal. The facilities have tent, cabin, and RV sites available for rent throughout the year. The campgrounds also have boat launches, a marina, general store, playgrounds, volleyball nets, and a swimming area.

Park is open April through November, and the campgrounds are generally open May 15th through October 15th. The park only has tenting campsites, though there are restrooms with running water as well as barbecue pits, there is no electricity available. Non motorized craft are allowed are allowed on the lake, and though fishing is encouraged, it is catch and release only in the lake.

Description: There are no RV sites in this campground, only tent sites. The campgrounds are located along the Yuba River, in an area popular for both kayaking and white water rafting. The camping facilities have fire rings, fire pits, restrooms, and a small convenience store.
